Trek to high Altitude lake

Bhrigu Lake Trek promises the opportunity of trekking to a high-altitude glacial lake amidst the towering snow-capped mountains and breathtaking sunsets. Trekking in winter to high-altitude regions requires multiple days before reaching the stunning transience of the lake. Trekking in Himachal Pradesh offers panoramic views of the colossal Himalayan ranges. Bhrigu lake trekking takes place in the heart of the Kullu Valley. At an elevation of 14000 feet, the trail passes through blooming alpine meadows, woody paths in the dense foliage, and jaw-dropping sights of the pristine lake. Surrounded by imposing mountains on all sides, the lake changes colors throughout the day, thereby offering a different reflection every time one glances into its depths. As per legend, the lake is associated with the myth of a great sage meditating at this lake. Known as the humble abode of Bhrigu Maharishi, the lake’s tranquil waters evoke a sense of calm amidst its presence. The Bhrigu lake lies approximately 6km from the scenic Gulaba. One of India’s most popular winter treks, the Bhrigu lake trek offers splendid views of the quaint Himalayan villages, colorful flora and fauna, and welcoming warm people who are a balm in the blistering cold weather. The pleasure of Bhrigu trekking is unparalleled as the lush green meadows soothe your senses, and the rolling mountain slopes provide the right amount of challenge to reach the pristine Bhrigu lake.

  1. Day1 Drive from Manali to Gulaba and start trek to Gulaba Meadows(8500ft)

The trek begins with a drive from Manali to Gulaba hamlet, some 22 kilometers away. The trail passes through a very forested area. The team then arrives at the broad, verdant meadows after a 20-minute steady and challenging ascent across rivulets. The trip would be only 4 kilometers long and take around 2 hours to reach the campsite. The views of the upper Kullu valley from this vantage point are breathtaking. Tents will be used for the night.

  2. Day2 Gulaba meadows to Rola kholi(12500ft)

From Gulaba camp to Rola Kholi, travel via the Kolang nallah. The first 1.5 hours of the Bhrigu lake trek package are spent ascending steeply, followed by a gentle ascent to the campsite. With vistas of Manali and Solang, the trek winds through natural forests. The views of the Solang Valley, Manali, and the Seven Sisters Peaks are spectacular from this location. The campsite is encircled on all sides by mountains, which protect from the strong winds. Retire for the night in a cozy tent.

  3. Day3 Rola Kholi to Pandu Ropa (11800ft) via Bhrigu Lake (14000 ft)

Winter trekking in India involves trekking through only one kind of trail. Winter treks usually pass through many blooming meadows and vibrant flora and fauna before you reach higher altitudes. The whole way, starting from the base to the summit, is not entirely enveloped in snow. The hike from Rola Kholi to Bhrigu Lake is a strenuous ascent. Even from afar, the sight of this lovely lake is enthralling. Except for the summer months, the lake remains frozen for the majority of the year. Water crystals glinting in the sun’s golden rays produce a rainbow of colors at different times of the day. The sight of Alpine blooms amidst verdant green plains is breathtaking. The walk descends steadily to Pandu Ropa after a halt at Bhrigu Lake. The hike passes through lush rice fields and lovely meadows. Spend the night at Pandu Ropa and then have dinner there.

  4. Day4 Pandu Ropa to Vashisth(6800ft)

Today, journey to Vashishth from Pandu Ropa, one of the most beautiful places on the planet. The Bhrigu lake trek continues downhill which might need extra effort as the sections are relatively steep. The path is marked. Hikers from the other side of the trail will be seen along the route. The journey concludes with a portion through villages and apple orchards. The hike will conclude in Vashisth, which is known for its hot sulfur spring. Vashisth is a town surrounded by hot springs. Lord Rama’s and Vashisth Maharishi’s temple shrines are famous here. The walk to Bhrigu Lake trek concludes here.
